How do I create my first help request?

To create a help request:

  1. Log in to your Off-Road Rescue account
  2. Click the "Request Help" button on the dashboard
  3. Select the type of help you need from the dropdown
  4. Enter a clear title and detailed description of your situation
  5. Allow location access or manually enter your coordinates
  6. Set the urgency level (1-3, with 3 being most urgent)
  7. Upload photos if helpful (optional)
  8. Submit your request

Nearby users who can help will be automatically notified of your request.

How does the notification system work?

When you create a help request, our system automatically notifies users within your specified radius who:

  • Have notifications enabled for your help type
  • Are within your notification radius (default 50km)
  • Are currently active on the platform

You can adjust your notification preferences in your account settings to control what types of requests you receive.

What should I do if I need emergency medical help?

Always call 911 first for life-threatening emergencies.

Off-Road Rescue is designed for non-emergency assistance and community support. For medical emergencies:

  1. Call 911 immediately
  2. If you have cell service, you can also create a help request for additional community support

Remember: Off-Road Rescue is not a replacement for professional emergency services.

How does the reputation system work?

Our reputation system helps build trust in the community:

  • Upvotes: Given when someone provides helpful assistance
  • Downvotes: Given when someone provides poor assistance or doesn't follow through
  • Reputation Score: Calculated based on upvotes minus downvotes
  • Reputation Display: Shows as a badge next to your name (New, Trusted, Expert, etc.)

Higher reputation scores make it easier to get help and build trust within the community.

Can I use Off-Road Rescue if I'm not in the US?

Currently, Off-Road Rescue is available in:

  • United States (all 50 states)
  • Canada (all provinces and territories)

We're working on expanding to other regions. If you're interested in Off-Road Rescue coming to your country, please contact our support team.

How do I become a verified business partner?

To become a verified business partner:

  1. Create a business account on Off-Road Rescue
  2. Complete your business profile with detailed information
  3. Submit required documentation:
    • Business license
    • Insurance certificate
    • Professional certifications (if applicable)
  4. Wait for our team to review your application (typically 3-5 business days)

Verified businesses receive a special badge and appear higher in search results.
